A breakthrough for Tourism Object in Bali
All support and bless from every aspect, starting from the governor of Bali, the head of TP. PKK (government foundation/organization. red) Bali province, the major of Bandung district and the head of TP. PKK Bandung, White snow in Bali officially opened. It was opened by Sekda I Nyoman Yasa, represent for the governor of Bali, Dewa Made Berathe. This occasion was held in Kuta Central Park in Tuesday, March 30th 2007.
The Grand Opening was mark with tape cutting by the head of TP. PKK Bali, Nyoman Mas Beratha, and also with deputy of DPRD Bali, IGK Adhiputra and major of Bandung district, AA.Gede Agung, SH. attendance.
In governor of Bali, Dewa Beratha’s oration, which read by Sekda I Nyoman Yasa, that the pride and highly recognition from society was given to “White snow in Bali” organizers. They had been working so hard to succeed this International Even.
This innovative activity was a breakthrough and creating a new alternative tourism object, beside the general object.
This event might have been the first time in Bali, but ‘what if’ in this tropical island that supposes to be impossible to have snow, could have one. And it could be enjoyable by society, event it was just artificial snow.
Beside that, governor himself suggested, that during the event, the organizers could incur “Ice Statue Competition”, which involved local artists. He hope that the event would succeed and work well and also could be enjoyable by both local and foreigner. Meanwhile, the head of ‘White Snow in Bali’ organizers, Thomas Choong said “This activity would have various attractions, which never found in Bali before, such as ‘Ice Skating’, ‘Giant ice Statue Demo’ and many more.”
In this occasion, visitors could see live performances, real intact of artificial ice making in 20 Celcius temperature. The event would also perform artificial of ‘White Snow’ as seen as the real snow in Europa, arts and statues made from ice by world artists.
Thomas also said, “This is the first performance in Bali, but the fourth in Indonesia, which had been held in Surabaya, Bandung and Medan before.” he also applied that the occasional itself carried a social and educational mission.
The event organizers were working together with TP. PKK just to represent defect people and orphans to enjoy this facility for free. They also gave a special discound for students.
In this opportunity, organizers donated to TP. PKK central, TP. PKK Bali and TP. PKK Badung, 30 million Rupiah each. In contrary the event organizers and ice artists were given souvenirs by Bupati A.A Gde. Agung and the head of TP. PKK Badung, Mrs. Gde Agung
